Kelly Lasch LaPorta is the manager and trainer at Rocking Horse Farm. Kelly brings over 20 years of experience training green horses and competing in equitation, hunters and jumpers.
As a child, Kelly grew up working hard to support her riding. She mucked stalls, groomed, braided, catch rode and worked as a vet tech. She knew those valuable lessons and experiences would help her achieve her dream of having her own training and lesson business.
At age 12 Kelly got her first horse, an unbroken 3 year old mare. Along with assistance from her trainer at the time, Gretchen Randolph (Tewksbury Farms) she brought the mare along to be a successful show horse. Kelly and her young mare even qualified and competed a the Equitation Finals. In her early 20's, Kelly managed and ran the lesson program at Windy Top Farm in Chester, NJ. She also trained and showed their sale and green horses.
In 2003, Kelly's dream became a reality and she started her own business, Rocking Horse Farm LLC. She started with a small 10 stall barn in Tewksbury and has grown her business to a 40 stall barn on 55 acres at her current location in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Rocking Horse Farm is a full service hunter/jumper facility on 55 acres in Bedminster, New Jersey. The farm has a family friendly atmosphere that welcomes beginners and serious show competitors alike. She provides specialized training programs to fit the needs of both horse and rider with an emphasis on becoming a team with your horse. Kelly has ponies and horses available for lease ranging from Short Stirrup to 3'6" Equitation horses. She also has well trained school horses and ponies for those just starting out in the lesson program or summer camp.
